What is Core Plus?

 

     Core Plus is an A/B day class that meets every other day. We believe that reading is an active practice. Each class will begin with 15-20 minutes of Silent Sustained Reading. Students are expected to bring their own reading material to their Core Plus classes each day. Students may be asked to write about or discuss the reading they do in class. Students will be expected to log their reading in their daily planners. Because Core Plus is designed to support students’ reading skills across the curriculum and not add to their workload, there will not be additional homework assigned.
